The sciences drive the technologies of war. Physics is essentially war science.
I got this thought due to the recent events of US and Iran war. It got me thinking about how wars were fought and won in the past, and how it is happening in the present.
Radio communication, radar systems are backed by understanding of electromagnetic theory.
Semiconductors makes electronics possible.
And of course, nuclear physics at its associated weaponry.
Rockets and missles are made possible by understanding of combustion chemistry and propulsion physics. Rocket propulsion is just a controlled explosion, with the net force on a combusion chamber pointing towards the direction of motion.
Why do we use rocket propulsion for missles? Why not just jet engines?
Knowledge of chemistry is also essential in rocket science since propellants operate at cryogenic temperatures and delicate mixtures. Various gases are used in startup.
Burnout comes from rocket propulsion, in which the sustained burn is out.
Rocket propulsion is just controlled detonation, how did scientists control explosion? Probably in the future, scientists would be able to control nuclear reactions to power movement.
Anything that could create movement is energy and work. Human realized that oil could be burned and expands to create movement. What other substances have we not discovered that would create movement?
